Cardiovascular diseases include heart attack, heart failure, strokes, arrhythmias, rheumatic heart diseases, birth defects, etc. As per the Times of India 2018, it was estimated that the death due to heart disease reduced by 41% in USA between 1990 and 2016. During the same period, deaths due to heart disease increased by a whopping 34% in India. In 2016, India lost more than 62.5 million people because of heart disease. Shockingly, one third of the deaths in India were in age group of less than 35 years as per The Hindu 2020. Indians get heart disease 10 years earlier than the rest of the world. Is India set to be the heart disease capital of the world.

The time has come where we need to join hands with people in all walks of life who are acting to promote a healthy living and live better, live longer. As an initiative to prevent heart disease, Dhadkan is inviting people in all spheres of life to help promote a healthy India. Yes, we make a promise to cook better, be active, sleep well and live longer. We urge all of you (students, housewives, businessmen, professionals, employers and employees) to join hands with us and make efforts to help people modify their lives and live longer.
